Chapter 7
Time, commitment and memory
If one tells the truth, one is sure, sooner or later, to be found out! â Oscar Wilde, 1854-1900
When you are able to always employ your will for constructive purposes, then you will become the controller of your destiny.
The mind is the creator of everything in our lives. All action starts with a thought and we should therefore guide our thoughts carefully only to create good. By focusing on any thought with dynamic will power, and applying passionate personal energy, we will make the thought assume a tangible outward form.
A wish is desire without passion or energy. Itâs good to have a wish but itâs better to bring it to reality with intention.
By wishing something will happen, we are asking for it, but by saying that we will something to happen, we are making it occur. As we act to make it a reality, we are turning desire into action and, provided that it is a positive goal from which others will also benefit, and provided that we truly believe that we deserve that positive outcome, then our energy will turn the thought to outward reality through powerful action.
We need to set our mind on fire with passionate desire for the achievement of our goal. Itâs no good being passive about it. You need to be powerful and full of energy, all focused on the achievement of your goal and the success that will follow. Not only will you succeed but, by applying these laws, you will enrich the lives of many others along the way.
Just one more step
It has been said that success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.
Donât give up
You might be one step away from success: donât give up.
Many of lifeâs failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up, and many of lifeâs successes were very close to failure before they succeeded. Thomas Edison made over 10,000 attempts before he discovered how to make a light bulb work!
Inexhaustible you
A great secret of success is to go through life as a person who never gets used up.
Foster a form of instantaneous combustion. You must set yourself on fire. Believe passionately in yourself and see your success become a reality.
Lock out failure
When failure comes knocking, strengthen your resolve to lock it out by detaching yourself from its influence.
Never give in
When you have an immense thirst and you do not give in, then you will drink of the river of success forever.
Donât doubt yourself
A person of success does not even know the word âimpossibleâ. Never doubt yourself but be filled with the power of success and you will succeed.
Manage your moments
Manage your moments and the hours look after themselves. Be aware of how you spend your time. It is truly the only real currency we have. Spent wisely, it will enrich us, our family and friends for life. Keep a diary, a written record of every hour of every day.
